Local Sports Media Panel today in the Psychology Auditorium

The Society of Professional Journalists is sponsoring a Sports Media Panel today at 1 p.m. in the Psychology Auditorium on campus.
The event is free and open to the public.
Chris Vernon of 730 AM Fox Sports, Jarvis Greer of Action News 5, Phil Stukenborg of The Commercial Appeal and Tiger women's basketball coach Melissa McFerrin will be on hand to discuss sports reporting and writing.
Vernon, named Memphis's No. 1 radio personality in 2007 and 2008 by the magazine Memphis Sport, has featured influential people in sports and entertainment, like Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, George Foreman and Criss Angel on his program.
Stukenborg has been covering high school, collegiate and professional sports at The Commercial Appeal for 26 years.
Greer, sports director for Action News 5, has been at WMC-TV for 30 years working as a reporter, photographer, editor and sports anchor.
McFerrin has coached basketball at both the collegiate and professional level for 26 years.
