U of M rated among nation's top'Washington Monthly' ranks Memphis No. 100The University of Memphis has made "Washington Monthly" magazine's annual list of the top universities in the United States. The U of M was 100th on the list, behind Stoney Brook University of New York at 99th and ahead of Catholic University of America at 101.

Mark Kantrowitz, publisher of FinAid.org and FastWeb, reported that as of June, students owe more than $830 billion in student loans, with $665 billion making up federal education loans and an estimated $168 billion coming from private loans.
